New York, Past & Present – Christmas Holiday Snaps
Happy new year to all. I know Christmas has been and gone but as we spent a few days in New York prior to Christmas I thought it would be fun to share a few snaps with you.
Has anything changed there since the 1950s? Is it still the most exciting and romantic city to visit pre Christmas? Well I’ll let you judge!

The Chrysler Building – wow a masterpiece.

Look at my own photo of Times Square and compare it to the 1950s’ version. Not much difference.

5th Ave Christmas shopping in 2011 is no busier than Christmas shopping in the 1950s.

I also want to just give you a taster of the amazing Christmas display windows that the large stores have just in case you plan a visit next December.

Hope you enjoyed by holiday snaps!

These photos made me so happy! I got married at the top of the Empire State Building 12 years ago on 29th December and it was the happiest day of my life! One of the reasons I loved getting married there was because I’d been inspired by all the 50′s films set in New York – so these photos brought all those wonderful emotions back!
We went skating in Central Park on Christmas morning and joined all the crowds looking at the amazing window displays later that day – such a fantastic place to spend Christmas and New Year – and an unforgettable place to get married. Thanks for posting these!
Its my favourite city can’t wait to return
