Johanna Hehir’s ‘Fifties Tea Party’ – New Wedding Dress Collection
We are delighted to be posting about Johanna Hehir’s new fifties inspired wedding dress collection today. Johanna Hehir (pronounced Hair) is one of London’s top bridal designers and has an oustanding reputation. The very talented Johanna, together with her business partner Paul O’Donoghue, have been in the industry for twenty years and been designing wedding dresses for ten years.
The new collection – Fifties Tea Party – is a gorgeous collection of wedding dresses, both full-length and tea length, that shout that 50s style in the most beautiful and stylish of ways. The collection is available now exclusively at the Johanna Hehir boutique in London and at UK local stockist Satin Bow Bridal in St.Albans.
Over to Jo to tell us more about the inspiration behind the new collection…
I’ve noticed over the last year or two how vintage fashions are influencing many brides to be and I wanted to create my own collection of dresses that picked up on this vintage theme that is so popular at the moment! I was inspired by Dior’s beautiful parisenne dresses from the fifties and my own love of that era.
Dresses from this 50s collection start at around £1,000. Other designs are all pictured on the Johanna Hehir website and so are the prices for each dress.
And Jo’s advice for brides to be shopping for their wedding dresses?
My advice to brides shopping for a wedding dress is to not go into the whole experience blind. Do your research, try and have a clear idea for what you want your wedding look to be before going to try dresses on and work out how much you are willing to spend on you dress. Pick stores that you feel have dress that fit your style and this will make the whole experience less stressful and a lot more fun! Johanna Hehir has the reputation for giving brides great advise on styling and helping brides put to getting their look. Each one of our stylists is capable of putting you in a dress that you will look stunning in, however the most important thing is finding a dress that expresses who you are and our stylists understand this.”
Gorgeous dress, and I love the photoshoot!
If you like the look of those ice-creams in the photos, the 50s style ice-cream van is available to hire for your wedding from Vintage Scoops, who serve delicious locally sourced ice cream with a huge menu of flavours (including pink Pimms & lemonade…mmm). All the crockery is also available for hire from My Vintage Day.
Big thanks also to Jayesh Pankhania for his fabulous photographs, and of course Johanna Hehir!
